Inspired by sky, sea and landscape, I observe my surroundings, absorb the rich kaleidoscope of nature and express my response in richly textured and moody paintings.

With big, expansive brushstrokes and delicate detailed marks, I aim to stimulate the imagination and evoke an emotional response.

Inspiration

My love of organic form and the detail in nature is expressed in my work. Sky, sea and landscape are my main inspiration: cloud formations which stimulate the imagination; the drama of a brewing storm; or a spectacular winter sunset. I aim to capture my response to nature through colour and texture. Acrylic is my favoured medium which I often mix with other materials including sand, stone and reflective objects such as glass and mirror.
